Almost Heart Attack
Around when I was at the middle of my second standard , I guess I had chicken pox or something like that , and a disease named “Kawasaki” , yup that awesome bike brand name , it’s a disease where it makes the blood vessel to your heart to inflame which could cause heart attack , so I was in hospital for 2 months , and in icu for 2 weeks , its not a big deal , its not like I was in respirator n all , its just that they had this fancy medicine that they need to give me which should be monitored
I was admitted in hospital , it was kinda awesome , I was in 3rd or 4th floor ig , nah way higher than that , I remember that when I first came to the hospital with a letter from other doctor in my hometown for treatment , I wasn’t scared or sad , because deepan at that time didn’t know about the intensity of the situation , he was just okay with being not able to go to school for gods sake , He was a topper by the way ,
so yeah , I was in the hospital for the first time , and my dad asked me what I want from the canteen , me being me , I told idk , and that’s the first time my friends when I had tomato juice\soup , man that was heavenly at that time , soon I was called inside for the injection that would facilitate connecting that glucose bottles in my hand ,
I remember that they telling my mother that she couldn’t be in the room , she looked at me and I just said its okay and laughed because at that time deepan already got used to this injection stuff and ig the nurse was pretty , and yeah there goes the injection and the next 2 months of my life would be spent in that hospital and In future I would go n tell about that story in this blog .
My daily life in the hospital were fun to say , I wake up and there was this robot and man show on pogo and my mother will make bread soaked in milk and give me in a bowl , ahhhh good old days , my room had 2 carts and a curtain in between and tv was on my side by the way , and for the most days , the cart on the other side was empty ,
I used to walk around the corridors and press the lift button randomly on the reception area and act asleep while relatives come to see me , I was alright and 1 fine day , when doctors come to visit me on morning , deepan overheard the doctor and my mom talking about my disease ,
that’s when I knew that I kinda have a serious disease going on and that doesn’t bothered me weirdly , what bothered me was him saying I shouldn’t eat oily stuff , and guess what , my father , that man , brought me chola fucking bature on the same night that doctor told no oily foods , my dad is a freaking legend .
In the hospital , I kinda had a disciple so to say , he was a male child , he kinda had a similar disease like me , and as he is a child compared to me , I was at 2nd standard , ig he was not at school ,
I used to mentor him around like don’t sit on the corridor and used to take him walking n all , and after some weeks he left the hospital , and later I met him 2 years after , where I went for my yearly checkup , he was also there ,
I was glad to see him although he kinda doesn’t remember me (that’s a whole diff story) , and days passed on the hospital .
while on the hospital , I saw a horrendous scene , as I walked on the corridor , a door was open to a patients room , I took a peak inside and I saw a lady on respirator and tubes to her lungs and tubes to her mouth barely clinging to life ,
idk what happened to her though hope she is fine today , maybe one day I will find her and be friends.
Every week , they would take me to do echo test on heart , its where they put a smelly cream in your chest area and probe will put on your chest and you can see your internal stuff on the monitor where it displays a white inverted cone with some black spots similar to the ones we see on lung tests on movies or some pregnancy things .
To take the test , 3 ppl comes to my room with a freeking wheelchair , for deepan , it was ridiculous , I remember I used to argue with them that I will not sit in that pathetic wheelchair and I can easily walk and I used to walk but after sometime I will just sit on the chair cuz who doesn’t like to sit on a moving chair which is pushed by someone while u sit on it like a king , (haha kinda similar to a disabled person) ,
So there was 2 hospitals , my room was normal hospital building but the testing was at heart hospital , how would I go between 2 hospitals u ask , freaking underground tunnels , yeah cool right , underground tunnels , -2 floor tunnel connecting both the hospitals , cool af ,
we walk through that and we would pop up on the heart hospital and I remember that doctor , I had a profound nickname for that guy , I named him “angry nose” ,
its because when I first went for the test , he scold that nurse who accomopnied me , its cuz she forgot to tell him that I was here and she took me directly to the test space , cuz apparently he had to do the test himself for my case ,
I felt special by the way , and was kinda angry at him , so yeah they made me lie down and did the test and I would go back to my room
the medicine that I was supposed to get was not available in the hospital , so they bought it from abroad and I guess each bottle costed a lot , fortunately my father had a nice health insurance thingy ,
and as days passed , and one particular nurse administered a medicine at a wrong time and made me suffer one of the miserable nights of my life , the whole night I was awake ,
my mom used to carry me on her shoulders and walk on the corridors , funnily enough my aunt was the one who made me feel better that day , she still freaking brings that up and brags that she is the one who saved my ass that day .
anyways , my medicine arrived , and I was at icu for 2 weeks , that was a luxurious life , everyday , a nurse would come at 4 am with wet wipes to clean me , and changes the bedsheet and my pillow , and they would bring food to me ,
everybody was nice , and my one cousin anna game me his PSP to play with while I was there , I used ti play so much on that PSP , such a nice guy he was .
I remember playing with the ECG machine , I had its probe attached my toe , I used to remove it and watch the machine go beep beep , of course the nurses were not pleased ,
I used to play with the graph on the ECG machine screen ,
and the medicine arrived , it was in a blue glass bottle which was refrigerated and it would be diluted and administered throught hose glucose packets ,
one thing was that instead of small glucose packet , they had something else , since I was a child , they had a giant replica of a syringe needle sitting next to my med which contained my medicine and wire would come from that and would be attached to my hands ,
I remember that nurse threatening me with that saying that she gonna inject me with that .
apparently , parents were not allowed in icu at night , I didn’t where my mom slept at night , now that I think about that she slept on corridors ig ,
we had a relative house nearby but she didn’t go cuz I was in icu and she couldn’t just leave me n go , poor girl .
my icu days were over and I was back to my normal room feeling homely and my disciple had left the hospital making his mentor proud ,
I was also about to be discharged , on 2 days before my departure , my fav nurse left the hospital , I said goodbye to that pretty lady , she was kinda awesome to be honest , I respected her so to say among all the other nurses ,
and on the day of my departure , I said goodbye to all my fellow nurses and friends , cuz believe it or not , I was kinda popular among nurses and I went home ,
I would still like to visit that room as a nostalgia trip , I kinda miss those peacefull days with a good window view from the higher floor of a building , it was awesome for me , but ig for my parents its not , they were glad that I was discharged ,
as I reached the hospital entrance for the first time in 2months cuz I was locked down in my room and took underground tunnels to outside hospital , I was never allowed to leave ,
as I entered the car and we went to home , it was a strange car ride way home , cuz I mostly forgot the outside world tbh and it was weird back home since I had a luxurious lifestyle for 2 months ,
my cousin was glad ig , it was weird cuz he was at school and I was at hospital so I couldn’t meet him and yeah life continued and I passed second grade without writing final exams .
